Raging River Conservation Group

Raging River Conservation Group

We are a conservation group. We began in 2015 as a working group to preserve specific areas of the Raging River in Fall City, Washington. What began as project to encourage a hard rock quarry in a residential area to follow updated mining rules became a years long project with the final result being the downsizing of the quarry and eventual sale to the King County Department of Natural Resources. Read more about our history and the quarry project HERE.

Once the quarry property was officially purchased by King County, we decided to expand our mission to allow for other conservation projects. The updated mission allows our corporation to raise funds and supply support to public organizations in the State of Washington.

One of our current projects is to purchase and supply needed physical items to assist the Wilderness Ranger Program at Mount Rainier National Park. We work with the Wilderness Ranger program to determine the current needs. Items that have been purchased with private donations include sleeping bags, backpacks, various tools and equipment as well as repair supplies such as shock cord for tents.

The Wilderness Rangers are some of the work horses of the Park, often backpacking for days at a stretch and participating in Search and Rescue operations as well as resource and visitor protection. New equipment and supplies are always needed and the park budget has not been able to match all the needs.
